AECOM in Australia and New Zealand

Recruiting now for graduates in AECOM Australia and New Zealand.

AECOM Australia applications close 30 April.
AECOM New Zealand applications close 9 June.

AECOM is a leading provider of planning, design, engineering, management and advisory services across architecture, building engineering, design + planning, energy, environment, infrastructure services, mining, transportation and water markets.

Our team of almost 3,700 talented people in Australia and New Zealand forms part of a strong AECOM network of more than 45,000 people in over 100 countries worldwide.

At AECOM, we understand graduates are seeking hands-on project experience across a broad range of disciplines as they take their next step in their careers.

As the lead design firm for many of the region’s mega projects, there are opportunities to work on signature projects like Brisbane’s $2 billion North-South Bypass Tunnel, Sydney’s $1.76 billion Desalination Plant or New Zealand’s award winning Biogas Cogeneration Plant.

Student opportunities

Practical experience in our workplace is one of the most valuable experiences a student professional can have. At AECOM, we provide opportunities to put learning into practice, experience our work culture, and gain a better understanding of working life as a professional engineer, architect, planner, scientist, economist or other specialist.

Our work experience programs involve small projects (or smaller components of large ones), so that you have the satisfaction of completing a project as well as receiving credit for your work.

University career fairs

AECOM regularly participates in university and college career fairs and our professionals would love to meet you and share their experiences about working with AECOM. The calendar of events shows which universities we will be attending over the coming year.

Your Development

At AECOM, career development is a major part of our work philosophy. We encourage every employee at all levels to build their skills and work towards recognised professional qualifications.

Creating the best opportunities for our graduates begins with our annual two-day induction program. This fun development event provides the opportunity to meet other graduates, speak with our senior management and create peer networks that stretch across Australia and New Zealand.  And that’s just the start.

Sharing information through our Growing Professional Skills (GPS) program also puts graduates in touch with a massive global resource, which is invaluable for developing an understanding of professional practice from across our region and around the world.

We also ensure your continued career development through technical seminars, internal and external training, site visits and social and educational industry events. If graduates decide to do additional study, we will help examine the options and identify particular fields of specialisation that support your career whatever its direction.  As an added incentive for engineers, your involvement in our GPS program is fully endorsed by Engineers Australia and the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand, helping you achieve professional accreditation (CPEng).

AECOM is committed to developing the skills of our people to the highest level. Learning and development opportunities include on-the-job training, internal technical sessions, on-line learning, mentoring, and internal and external courses and events. Our people have unique opportunities to learn from industry leaders both across our region and around the world.

Social networks

AECOM locations have active social clubs, which offer a wide variety of activities and events for both employees and their families. Activities include themed lunches, theatre evenings, tenpin bowling evenings, quiz nights, wine tastings and much more!

As a company we support, sponsor and encourage our people to participate in various sporting events, including fun runs, bike ride events and social sport team competitions.

Benefits

Our employees’ skills, energy, ideas and knowledge are critical to everything we achieve. We create opportunities for exciting careers in a positive work environment that fosters and supports our people.

AECOM’s career benefits include professional development, career support, flexible work arrangements, social activities, health and wellbeing activities, financial benefits and discounts.

Our requirements

At AECOM, our people are chosen for their talent, their insight, and their ability to see projects in balance with the world’s natural and social order. We employ some of the most interesting, passionate and brightest people in the industry, and we are looking for more.

Join a movement of engineers, planners, environmentalists, scientists, analysts, deep-sea divers, mountain bikers, arctic explorers, bushwalkers, historians, artists, musicians, and astronomers!  All of who share a passion for solving tomorrow’s problems today.

We’re after inquisitive problem solvers with a keen attitude and infectious passion for finding answers.  You will be enthusiastic, driven and ready to commit to high standards and work on exciting projects in a dynamic work environment.

Take your next step forward with AECOM.
